Your wedding day, the way it actually felt

I was a journalism major who spent more time wandering around with a film camera than sitting in lecture halls. In 2018, a friend asked me to second-shoot her wedding. During the first look, I completely fell apart crying behind my viewfinder. That was the moment I stopped pretending I was going to do anything else with my life.

My approach is pretty simple: I show up, I get quiet, and I pay attention. Not to the grand gestures — to the dad adjusting his tie alone in the hallway, to the two friends in the corner laughing so hard they can't catch their breath. Those are the moments that tell the real story of a day, and they're gone in seconds if nobody is watching for them. The couples I work with tend to say the same thing afterward: they barely knew I was there. That's exactly what I'm going for.

I'm based in Portland and I photograph weddings and portraits for people who want their day to feel like themselves — not a version of someone else's highlight reel. Wedding collections start at $4,500 and portrait sessions are $650 for an hour. I travel for destination weddings a few times a year when the right people ask.
